Side Hustle Productions is an entertainment production company founded in Los Angeles by songwriter, filmmaker, and tech entrepreneur Deidre Jericho. Prior to its official formation in 2019, both company and founder spent numerous years establishing professional relationships with many prominent figures in the entertainment industry that would have an influence in defining and shaping the company’s philosophies. Focused on leaving an imprint as a one stop shop and multimedia production house, Side Hustle Productions leverages its resources to source, acquire, develop and produce content that inspires, entertains, and informs. Since its inception, the company has remained steadfast in its commitment to preserve the legacy of generations of artists for which their story rights have been acquired for future use, a major milestone that adds more value to the company’s portfolio. Collectively, Side Hustle Productions consists of a team of collaborators- all of whom are accomplished producers, artistic directors, filmmakers, content creators and acclaimed artists who generously contribute to the company with their talent and time. Initially, the company was formally launched for the sole purpose of developing, producing and exhibiting “Eight Counts,” a documentary film and passion project that examines the world of commercial dance, but inevitably the company’s scope was broadened in anticipation of other impending film, television and music projects. Accordingly, the company’s client roster would evolve to encompass dancers, choreographers, educators of the arts, influencers, entertainers, specialty acts, creators of TV, Film, and Music content in addition to theatrical, corporate, emerging platforms and those who use their creative endeavors to advocate social change.

Deidre's career began twenty years ago in music publishing, working with some of the most lucrative and commercially successful catalogs in music- notably Prince, Chaka Khan, Tina Turner, Madonna, and Amy Winehouse. As her career thrived in the corporate music world, Deidre was also able to consistently find side opportunities as a songwriter for hire on projects by numerous independent artists with a few mainstream acts to her writing credits. Soon Deidre was regularly being hired by film producers and music supervisors with whom she had developed a working relationship over the years to contribute to soundtracks and other music projects whenever she could. From there, her path towards becoming an independent film producer sort of just happened by seemingly being surrounded by all the right people at the right time, who could see that she had the natural ability to fit into multiple roles. It wasn't until she was being repeatedly hired by documentary filmmakers that she realized that perhaps her niche as a filmmaker was in this genre. Accordingly, Deidre's growing passion for documentaries and producing real life narratives would lead to the conception of “Eight Counts,” a passion project inspired by her observation of some dancers she knows. This would then incite the official formation of Side Hustle Productions, initially for the sole purpose of developing, producing, and exhibiting Eight Counts but has since broaden its scope in anticipation of other impending projects.
